Any ublock gurus?

Trying to block the annoying every time I go into a forum popup about the site giveaway. I thought that this would do it
nopopups:tdpri.com true
but it isn't working. I'm not sure if it's a true popup or something else.

For some reason it went away on my phone running Firefox. No such luck on my laptop running the same browser and TWO blockers. But it isn't nearly as annoying on my laptop. It too shall pass...

I get it on this and the Squier page- I left TDPRI open to see replies and after refreshing, the ad didn't pop up- I assume it's because I'm using DuckDuckGo and it clears the cookies when I close tabs but I could be wrong.

right click on the ad, and you should see a block this element option. At least i do on chrome with ublock origin. I haven't tried it though. I like that ad.

I tried blocking the ad via the right click menu on UBlock Origin.
The Ad has 3 elements to it, and when I blocked them it made the page inoperable.
I've had to switch Ublock off for the Tdpri site now and ironically, I see it much less.

It appears to be more geared towards those will adblockers, on my other laptop which I haven't altered the element at all but have Ublock running as normal, it's insidiously on every refreshed page.

I use adblockers not just for the advertising element.
Having processing difficulties makes pages more readable and navigable when I use adblockers.

This has left me considering whether to continue using the site, which is a pity because this place has been my window on the world from my mainly bedbound and isolated situation.

This was my experience as well with Firefox AdBlock Plus. But the PC version of the pop-up is not that annoying to me. The phone version WAS obnoxious. It is gone now.

Right you are on all points. I went through the multi-element blocking with the same result as you.

They've fixed it, now. For me, the popup only appears with the first display of the home page.

I wish the management had more of a clue about the basic principles of DevOps and customer relations. This is a good place to be, but they develop and deploy an unforced error once or twice a year, while maintaining near silence about it. I have a clue about this, having been in the technical management end of enterprise-scale ecommerce in my checkered past.

I use uBlock Origin, NoScript, and Firefox. I get the giveaway popup only when I first load the home page. It doesn't bother me that much.

It's gone on mobile.

Desktop is going to be a tougher nut to crack. There's an element that blocks out everything else while the giveaway dialog is up. The part of the page that throws up the dialog appears to flip a switch on that element that makes it visible, which is why everything stops working if you just block the dialog. (It's blocking anything you do from getting to anything else.) Unfortunately, that element is also tied in with scrolling (part of the page rather than letting the browser handle it), and blocking that breaks scrolling.

I'm sorely tempted to send the site enough for a couple of entries, sell off anything I win and donate the proceeds under the condition that enthusedDigital never, ever does this again.

HP Omen laptop, W11 Pop up blocker on, Mozilla Firefox, I do not see it at all when I am on the site and meandering through. I only see it after I log off the site and it immediately fills the page which isn't a bother at all. Don't know why it happens this way.

If you refresh (F5) the page after the element is blocked, the page works normally.

Tried that on Firefox. The popup gets blocked, you can get to links on the page but you can't scroll.

This is the filter:

Code:
www.tdpri.com##.is-active.samOverlay_64.samOverlay.overlay-container

That's odd! I am using FF along with AdGuard and all works well after a refresh.

I don't even think it's legal in my state (or many others) because of the violation of the "no purchase necessary" clause in conjuction with the membership purchase required.

If you click through, there are instructions on how to enter via postcard without purchasing membership.
