And what if I wanted a stripped down 4x4 shortbox regular cab pick-up truck with a manual trans?

    Special order? Pathetic.

No, they don't. They keep complaining about falling sales and lack of loyalty all while not building anything that anyone actually wants to buy. Read: Chevy Cruze, Chevy "Impala," Chevy "Blazer," Ford Fusion, etc.
Those names I put in quotes are because the newer models have practically nothing in common with the cool classics they share a name with.

They seem contemptuous of their own market and treat their employees like dirt, imo. Best word to describe them is "adversarial".

Those flea like Chevy Sonics and Cruzes seem popular. They come in non black/white/silver colors too.

I see lots of Chevy's on the road. Glad people are buying them, not fond of the 40-60 thousand 12 mpg trucks I usually see.

My wife's new car has a steering wheel heater. It is all she can talk about.

How many brand new cars have you bought in your life. If it is at least 2 per decade you've been alive, they will care about your opinion, if not... not so much.

I suspect they've come to enjoy the aroma of their own flatulence. Volkswagen isn't much different. Talk about treating your customers with total disregard. VW wrote the playbook on how not to run a business. I'll never buy a VW and I was kind of in their camp before their scandals. I still love old VW buses, grew up in one. That was before I discovered what ghouls their management teams were.

I went into a dealership once, didn't buy anything ,once they told me they wanted $5000.00 down. I bought a used truck for 4 that i still have. I have decent credit too, just don't use it much, their loss.

Are you saying they "don't get it" because they cancelled it?

'Cause they wouldn't have cancelled it if it unless its sales were tanking.

I'd say that introducing this car that failed is what shows they don't get it.

You gotta wonder what kind of executive is sitting there saying, "Hey Phil, what do you think about rehabilitating the Hummer brand? We could make it electric, win over the tree-huggers, and expand our customer base. What do you say?"

Is this just a more negative branch of the discussion thread we were already having, or something new?

The Continental is (was) the flagship of the Lincoln Motor Company. What kind of message is sent to loyal Lincoln customers when the plug is pulled?
If sales are slumping, is it on the consumer or the company?

It's on the company for not making what people want, and making things that people don't want.

Lincoln could go the way of Mercury and no one would care except for the few people buying Navigators.
