Walter Hill (who made many movies that I really liked) worked on two movies that are astonishingly close in the sense that the plot is very very similar... one of the films he wrote and directed and the other he produced.

Both movies are great and have to admit that I have seen one about 3 times more than the other, but the other is more iconic and was a huge hit, while the other flopped despite having probably bigger stars...

The connection between the two was completely unknown to me... I've been working on a bunch of songs... and thinking through (in some cases) the difference between what I wrote and what I wanted to say... and I remembered what a friend once told me... there are only a couple of different plots in the world... everything is a variation of those few plots...

Soooooooo, think of all the different films Hill was associated with... which two films are almost the same stories but in entirely different milieu.

Any guessers? There is one other insane fact that ties the two movies...

Any Walter Hill fans? Anyone want to make a guess? If you guess, extra points for the 'why' part...

I'm going to guess.... that I haven't seen one of the two films. Is "48 Hrs" one of the films you've got in mind? If you'd rather not give out clues, that's fine. Someone will probably get it.

The Warriors and Southern Comfort.
Just tryin’ to get back.
*I hear a rumor that Lin Manuel Miranda is doing a Warriors musical.

Peckinpah’s ‘Wild Bunch’, ‘Convoy’, and ‘Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia’ are pretty similar to each other.

+1 Warriors and Southern Comfort

Why: based on Anabasis/Xenophon?
