tuning problems - g palm lever w/hipshot b bender

hi there everyone, this is my first post.
i recently installed a g palm lever on my tele to go along with the b bender i already had.
the problem is that using the b bender puts the g string a 1/4 or more flat (a string occasionally flat as well), and after taking it to a tech and contacting hipshot ive gotten no closer.
I use nut sauce and have shimmed the bender plate to get a more downwards angle but still i have not found a remedy.
any advice or solutions?

I’m a long time Hipshot user, and former resident of your fair country, and province.
I’m wondering how using the B string raise can effect your G string.
Unless the mounting of the base is unstable, raising the B string should not effect the G raise.
I use heavier strings than normal (12-54) on my B bender guitars.
I have 3, and they all work great.
I do not have, or use the G raise.
Is your Hipshot base firmly mounted, and flush with the top of your guitar?
Hipshot usually provides a longer/larger strap button screw.
This helps stabilize the base plate.
If you care to, there are two extra mounting screw holes on the base of the Hipshot.
They are smaller than the strap button mounting hole, and are on either side of it.
You have to put two extra holes in your guitar, but they greatly stabilize the unit.

hello, thanks for your reply. everything i have installed was ok'd by the tech i used. i did need to shim the plate to bring it flush to the face of the guitar.
when i spoke with hipshot they said that when they make b and g sets they use a stabilizing screw on the steel rod, and mine would not have it as i purchased both separately. i am using all screws provided by hipshot

the reasoning for the g going flat is that the pressure of applying the b bender causes enough flex to elongate the string, therefore making it flat. hipshot also suggested i bend the plate but i have no tool to bend steel. currently i have the g string strung up normally and no tuning issues whatsoever. 10-48 is my usual gauge of playing.

i am using longer screws than what hipshot sent for the plate.

the only solution i can think of is to install 2 screws to the plate and face of the guitar...

If it’s not too much trouble, can you post pics of the guitar/Hipshot?
I’ve put Hipshots on many guitars since 1983, when I first got one.
They work beautifully, though again, I never used a G bender.

After looking at your pictures, It seems like the B&G mechanisms touch.
They should be separated by snap rings.
Perhaps thats the problem.
Friction.
Do you have the extra snap rings to go between the mechanisms?
They serve as retainers/spacers.
You’ll need inside and outside snap ring pliers.
If you paid someone to install the G raise mechanisms, they should have installed the rings.
Hipshot will have the rings, as should a well supplied hardware or auto parts store.

Get rid of all that crap, & get you a pedal steel.
MIM Fenders won't stay in tune under the best of conditions, anyway.
