For those of you familiar with the Tungsten Mosaic, is it the circuit different from a stock 5F1? I know it uses larger transformers, but are there also other modifications to the circuit?

Doesn't look like it, it uses an 8"-12"speaker which the original was a 6".
They have no doubt increased the wattage on the cathode resistor to handle a 6L6 but it appears that they use an 5F1 circuit.

The original Mosaic was very close to a stock 5F1, with the differences being a beefier OT, and components having tighter tolerances than those in the 1950s. It came with a Weber 8", or a T12Q, which is designed by Adam Palow (the Tungsten guy) and built by Weber. The 8" version is still in production, and the 12" Mosaic is available as a special order.

The Mosaic MkII is 5F1-based but has a tone knob. Adam describes it as being very close to a 5F2-A.

I had a 12" Mosaic and presently have a Mosaic Mk II and out of several 5F1 clones, they're my favs. The T12Q is amazing!

Thanks for the feedback, boredguy6060 and H. Mac. I'm interested in a low powered amp mainly for home use. Various takes on the 5F1 (such as the Mosaic and the Swart) interest me, but I'm afraid the 5F1 types wouldn't have enough cleans to be practical for my needs. The more I think about it, an Allen Chihuahua at 6w might be the best of both worlds--a clean base, but with the ability to dial in more of a tweed sound via the RAW control.
