I have a few Snark carcasses lying around, tried a bunch of other tuners.Nothing seems to really get in tune.It seems like the keys fluctuate when I'm tuning. Now,I've been on a kick playing a few V guitars. And I think it's the banana headstock, but I can't tune it.Especially the lower strings. What is a really good clamp on tuner? Thanks all.

I use a pedal if plugged in or, if unplugged, an app on my phone. Google has a built-in. There are a couple threads on here about "best clamp-on tuners" but a pitch pipe gets the job done at home. Has the guitar got a bad nut or machines?

If the guitar has a banana-type headstock, with all 6 tuners on one side, could it be that the distance between the nut and the tuning peg is long enough for some of the strings that they are ringing sympathetically, and confusing the tuner?

You could try putting a piece of tape (or a rubber band, or whatever) across the strings on the headstock side of the nut, and see if that makes a difference.

Just a WAG, here.
