Just pulled the trigger. It's shipped.

I like Brian Wamplers videos on youtube and always thought his pedals sound great.

Playing my princeton at home with lower volume. Have a few drive pedals, but closest thing to the bluesy crunch I want now is my tubescreamer. But I'm left wanting something a bit different. More amp like I guess.

Was a toss up between this and the mxr Timmy.

My gut told me go with Brian. (can't really get a Cochrane Timmy either). Funny because mxr does the klone thing as well, and I like mxr, but wanted the real deal (well sorta).

Is this thing all that and a bag of weed?

LOL, it's late. Thanks!

It’s a great pedal, quite flexible and capable of huge perceived volume push. I ended up selling mine and sticking with a strymon deco for the dirt sound but for the money the tumnus is easily one of the best bang for the buck pedals in my opinion.

The Tumnus Deluxe was the Klon Klone that I wanted, but Ric at Guitar Pedal Shoppe didn't have any in stock at the time I was shopping. He recommended the RYRA Klone to me (which is amazing btw). There are tons of good klon style pedals out there. The Tumnus is a great pedal, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

With respect to placement, should I put it before OD and Muff? I also have an mxr micro amp I can use as a boost.

I got one as few weeks ago. I use it with a DRRI and a Joyo eq pedal. I'm new to the Klone world so I just decided to grab one. Here's my setting for a Keith Richards sound using the bridge. I'd love see other folks pedals settings, etc.

Enjoy your new pedal!

Great thread. I've been curious about these since a 3 band EQ makes it, to my mind, a cross between an OD and an equalizer. Now that is useful.

Wish they weren't so expensive, at least in these parts.

I removed the Wampler and plugged in my OCD v4. Tone at 11 - Drive about 9:10 - Hp setting on - and going for that Stones tones in bridge it was very close to the Wampler pedal. Both pedals might push off the Tech 21 Blonde pedal, which has been a a favorite pedal for me that past 8 years.

I really believe the magic is in the EQ pedal - IMO.

Which is the other reason that I've resisted the urge.

I picked up a Joyo American Sound (basically a Tech 21 Blonde) last year and I'm guessing that it covers a similar sonic and functional territory (while costing less than 1/10th what I'd have to pay for the Wampler).

And, yeah, I too think that the magic lies in EQ.

Mine is always on and at the end of my dirt chain. It really thickens up the sound. Nice, full sound. It can get a bit of grit if needed but I like it with minimal edge to it. About 10 o’clock.

So you slam it with something for leads?

I had the Tumnus mini and it was a good pedal. I'd be keen to try the Deluxe at some point. As someone else said you get the klon thing but greater diversity with the controls of the Deluxe

regarding the Strymon Deco pedal , it's horror show, top drawer, the bending end , magic
lots of applications in that modest pedal

I was looking at always on front end this weekend.
(tumnus deluxe,snouse 2,archer ikon,barber gain changer)
If I get too many knobbie options though, I might get confused
so perhaps less may be more)

Well it arrived today from the jungle.

I'm disappointed.

It sounds muddy and compressed . Less transparent than my od808. The tone also loses warmth , especially as the gain goes up.

It's not gonna work with my set up unfortunately. Returning for refund.

I should add.. It's not necessarily a bad sounding pedal. It's just that my expectations were sky high. It doesn't really do anything much different or better than my od808, so it's redundant I think.
