Not sure where to post this...

I'm trying to play music from my iPhone through my new Behringer PA system. I found a miniplug adapter that splits the signal through two quarter inch plugs. I plug each one into its own channel, then send the signal hard right and hard left in each channel to create stereo.

It works except it sounds out of phase, or slightly tremelo, if that makes sense. The signal comes in and out and doesn't sound crystal clear.

    What am I doing wrong?

Are you bringing in to independent channels say (channel 3, 4) on the Hi-impendance input?
    Or
Are you bringing into to a balance rca in channel 13/14 ?
    or
Are you bringing into a non-assigned RCA inputs?

Assigning to channels 5 and 6, using quarter inch plugs (is that the right terminology? like instrument cables).

We tried using RCA inputs but it didn't sound good either.

    What is the best solution?

Hmm, I'm using an RCA splitter for my iPad and iPhone on my Peavey and everything seems to work fine (as another data point).

What model PA are you using? There should be Line In and Line Out. You should use that connection.

Is your mini plug a stereo plug, TRS?
Doesn't a phone require you to use a different plug with 4 separate segments?
This way it makes provisions for the phone mic too?

The bloody noise gates were turned up on both powered speakers! Turning them down fixed the problem. Oy vay!
