I’m not really a beard goatee kinda guy after a couple weeks of not shaving I start to lose my mind. Plus hitting my mid 30’s and genetics they grey hairs have been showing up more than not. Decided to give this a go and didn’t shave for three weeks, last week I trimmed the nightmare up into a decent goatee. So week four of this part growing and it’s slowly becoming more tolerable. I’ve been keeping the perimeter nice and clean shaven and touch it up every couple days.

Haven’t gone many places the last week until tonight. Two separate places tonight I had the checkout women getting flirty which never happens. Go to get a drink at the gas station, sit it on the counter and she says is that all while eye boinking me and smiling. I said yes ma’am…. Oh it’s on me don’t worry about it.

Second place I sit my stuff on the counter and wrap up the transaction while she’s been doing the small talk and getting flirty. She gives me the total and does the oh are you sure that’s all you need tonight? Eye boink again.

Ok now I’m like what the heck this never happens. Before you all point and laugh at me have any of you found women have been more attracted to you with facial hair?

Even before I started getting grey, when I grew out my beard it looked like a calico cat was sitting on my face…a little red, a little white, a little black, a little blond, a little brown…

My wife prefers me clean-shaven, and I like her a lot, so I stay that way.

I have had a goatee for decades. I have a scar on my chin that would always bleed profusely when I used a razor. I got tired of messing with that every morning. So I grew a goatee. It's all grey now. My kids tease me about it, say I'm stuck in the 90's. I shaved it off once. My wife told me to never do that again.

I think facial hair is quite flattering on me but there are problems. I tend to play with it all the time. In our very hot summers it feels a little 'unclean'. And the big one, my wife much prefers me clean shaven. She has lovely delicate fair skin and, uh, you know what I mean.

I’m giving it an effort more than I have previous times. Thankfully it’s still cold out, I work outside and in the summers after a couple weeks of not shaving I find it brutal with the itching ect. We will see what happens.

For 40 yrs, I stopped shaving in October, resuming in March (except keeping the permanent 'stache). I've had Elvis chops, muttonchops, handlebars, full shovel, and various combinations/permutations. I finally just gave up and went with a permanent goatee. Its been gray for nearly 30 yrs.

My natural cluelessness kept me from ever noticing any reaction (positive or negative) from women. Miz Diane doesn't really care...except she doesn't like the full Santa.

If I wear a green plaid vest, my bowler and carry one of my many banjos...people think I'm Sam the Snowman...
