I ran across the tune again and it’s been a long while since I had heard it, so I attempted to figure it out by ear and just what little I did was hard for me but it is a beautiful song if played beautifully

    Nice melodic tune.
I’ve heard versions that are will bring tears and chills
I did try to finger pick it but my skill/talent level is way too low

Nice! You’ve got some beautiful chord voicings.
I might have to steal a few...
I have a version I’ve been working on for a couple years, I’ll post here sometime if I can find the time.

    Nice chord work.

One little tip: that second chord on "river" is just a straight A minor. The first few chords being C, Am, F... The childlike simplicity of it, is what gives the song the fairytale charm it has, despite have some more jazzy complexity further in the progression. It's easy to overthink.

Sounds great, I do a very similar chord melody of this great standard and others such as Moonlight in Vermont.

Thank you so much and you are so right. I'm pretty much a hack of a player and for whatever reason was hearing it differently at the time. I quit playing out some years ago and started trying to learn a little something. I think the first tune I worked on was Talk Of The Town by Dean Martin, oh my goodness it took me two weeks to kinda get the first verse close, let alone the two movements in the chorus, think I spent a month on it and it's still real ify.

Whooo! Nicely done; Andy Williams would dig that. GREAT tone.

    Is that an ES175?

I think your arrangement was excellent, I wouldn’t change a thing.

It's the waltz tempo that is confusing...

    Peegoo will explain....

    Very nice!

My introduction to this song was watching Supergirl sing it.

Nice clean playing and beautiful tone!

How to create the sound of of the chord that you play as x2323x, which is a Bm7-5 (also called B half diminished) in this context, eluded me for many years.
