I have built a couple guitars so far and have usually put the truss rod in the neck with the flat side up (against the fretboard). However this requires routing a deeper recess near the nut end that I usually do by hand. It’s a pain. Does anyone orient their truss rods with the round side toward the fret board? I could just make the entire channel deeper. This would also put the adjustment nut a tad higher which I think would be better. thoughts??
