I've already mowed my yard, twice...well, the first time was mostly shredding the twigs and leaves that accumulated all winter. I've lived in this place almost six years and never seen as much tree debris before.

I've started cleaning my boat up for the first day it isn't too windy to put in, and I brought all my baitcasting tackle in the house to clean and evaluate. I've got two rods ready to go, one has a broken tip from a truck tailgate injury, and two old faithful Zebco 33s just need new line in case I take a guest.

I haven't been fishing in a long time, but I'm looking forward to it immensely. I'm ashamed to say I'd forgotten how to tie a couple of my favorite knots, and had to resort to the Google to refresh my memory.

When all of this snow melts, there could be floods....

My mom's basement.
This is sad for skiing but really does mean spring. The Lee A Tregurtha is first ship out on Lake Superior for the season on way to Marquette, and it looks like Edwin Gott is about to be first through the Sault Ste Marie locks.

I worked winter maintenance on the Tregutha in 1989 while it was docked at Ford River Rouge plant in Dearborn Mi.. The Barker and two other ships were there too, but I can't remember their names. My good friends brother was an engineer for Inter Lake Steamship Company. He got me the job. I loved the work. Those ships are fascinating.

Started my Springs right here in 1963.
Loved the seasons, Spring possibly the most but it is not a contest, just love seeing what last years plantings survived, what pops up first, what critters arrive and depart or stop in for a beer etc.
This will be my last in the North Eastern US so it is bittersweet.
Lived in Boston and NYC too, close enough to the same nature.
Sotheby's sign went up today and the well funded are already drooling. This guy drove back and forth, in and out the driveway, seemed to be taking a video.
Cannot say I blame him, bout the nicest lot on the street a 45 second walf from the water.
Thought I would grow old here but I guess I explore one more new landscape and wildlife combo.
