Besides, why would they want to give you your money back any sooner than absolutely necessary? Of course they want to encourage you to sit on them a little longer. Hell, they never expire.......right? We'll be glad to hold your cash safe with us a little longer.

What they oughta do is pay you some interest for having the use of your money for so long. What would the dividend be on $2K for 30 years?

    Right. Got my dates befuddled.

Although, I couldn’t find any trace of them in NZ anymore when I was trying to do this.

    Hi.

I’m on holiday in New Zealand at the moment. I noticed the other day in a post office that there was a sign up announcing the date from which they will no longer accept cheques.

And about a year ago I was here too, and in a small supermarket I noticed an elderly woman paying by cheque. I asked the person serving me if many people still used them. She replied no, just that woman and one other old person.

Some confusion here.....we don't write "cheques" here in the states......only "checks".

...and TV stamps which were yellow. I helped my mom paste them into books.

In the early 70s when I went to high school down in the city, there was a Black and Brown Stamp store. Those stamps had a portrait of James Brown in the center.
