I had business in Columbus with a late flight out. I'm still at the airport. I Uber'd to the Sam Ash store this afternoon. I hadn't been in a Sam Ash in ages. Nice store. I enjoyed the store. I tried a Morning Glory.....it's more of a boost (I thought) than an Overdrive. I wanted to get in the old Tom Petty Tele tone area. The also had the Calhoun V3 which is Mike Campbell's signature pedal and I was excited to play it. The fuzz side was crazy Fuzz. Lots of fuzz. Too much for me. The overdrive was like a boost and together they sounded like more fuzz. I'm no Mike Campbell (understatement of the year) and I couldn't make it work. They had a Tone Bakery Creme Brûlée with the box and book and it was $89. This one landed me in the Petty zone perfectly. It's supposed to be smooth with nice edge when you dig in. I truly loved it. It's like it was made for a Tele. My souvenir from Columbus....... Yes I took a pedal picture at the airport. I'm bored and I wanna go home. The 808 is coming off the gig board. I'm removing the green. I may never say that again but I'm going for it. I'll be in my own bed at 11. I'm putting the pedal on my night stand.
