I have a VOX AC30 I'm trying to sell, and a guy wants to trade me a 70's bassman head for it. I tell him I can't do that straight across, so he tells me he has another amp and speaker cab (non-Fender), and sends me a few pics.

I know what the Traynor is suppose to be, but this one has a switch for On/Standby . I can't find another like it on the webz. Anyone have any experience with 'em?

He hasn't answered me back yet or of course I would know. That was my first thing to do. :p

I have one. Solid state. Not a great amp, in my opinion. Whats the 70s Bassman though? Like what year specifically?

No, not that I recall. My Dad has it at the moment. But I think it just had an on/off. If I was you, I think I'd hold out. I bought my TS-10 for $25... Canadian.

No NOTHING about the amp, but a standby switch on an SS amp? That IS odd... looks like a home-built mod to me.

I don't think that's a standby switch, it says "stand", then it has a pilot light, then it says "by".
Maybe a ploy to make it appear tubey?

That Bassman is fine, but a fair trade might include the cab with the head, though that would be in your favor.
Depends on which AC30 you have too, some were not very good, going back to the various manufacturers after Vox went under and the name was sold over and over.

That's a BassMan 50. Made in the 70s. Which Vox AC30 do you have? Made in China? I'd trade. Made in UK? Maybe not. That BassMan 50 is a better than decent head despite whatever you might read and will be dependable. It was made in Corona.

Yes, it's made in China, but never had an issue with it. My TV is also made in china. Same deal.

I don't need a non-reverb head when I have a perfectly good combo here. I'm in no hurry to sell, and I was just wondering about the Traynor, which he confirms is SS.
