I hope you are all safe and well.

With all due respect to Travis, this jump isn't apples-to apples from my amateur point of view. The bike, technology, size and sturdiness of the landing ramp, and the lack of objects he had to negotiate on the landing just weren't comparable, in my opinion. Yes, I am biased towards the Knievels.

Look at Evel "bounce" off that rickety landing ramp :(

Not even close to what EK did.

As a kid I wanted to be a combination of:
Elvis (naturally), Matt Dillon (the one with the hat), the 6 Million Dollar Man...

    and Evel MF Kneivel

Travis is from my neighborhood, just outside of Annapolis. Everybody knew he was going to hit the bigtime because he was a monster rider even as a little kid.

I think this jump is simply paying tribute to EK. It's not a contest.

If there was never an EK there may not have been TP. No, wait... that didn't quite come out right....

I've got 3 words for you: Snake... River... Canyon

Nothing in the history of daredevil stunts has ever been lamer.

The Evil Kniviel toy was pretty cool, though.

But he risked his life and kept his promise to make the jump.

Yeah well I was standing 300 feet from his landing barge this night. Travis is okay by me. I loved EK and all of his stunts. I wanted him to make every one. Man his crashes were devastating.
