 yes , modestly a little above my pay grade, well above my abilities to need one, that would be like putting my great aunt Fern in a 1964 Dino Ferrari to do her grocery shopping and make trips to the gardening store.;)

When I built a Champ head with my son this spring, we went with the all wood head cab look a la Trainwreck:

    Thanks.
I've always been intrigued by these, although I'm not sure I've ever even heard one.

    Trainwrecks? Ken Fischer? Oh, yeah...

Our tireless friend Rob has rescued the contents of Ken Fischer's original "Trainwreck Pages" from low-tech print originally saved as a low-fi PDF into a modern file and then cleaned it all up so he could port it into Word, ODT, and *searchable* PDF files -- and share them all with us.

If you want to know anything from Ken, from how an amp works to the various details of Trainwreck MVs, this is your resource. Thanks, Rob!!!

I've told this here before, but in the early 1990's, a buddy and I were on Ken Fischer's waiting list. When our names came up, we could have him build one of his three amp choices.....a Liverpool, the Rocket, and (I think) the Express. It was our choice, at the same price......$1700. No, I didn't leave off a zero or two. At the time, you could find original BlackFace Deluxe Reverbs for $2-300, and pristine AC 30's for $3-400......and I just couldn't justify spending $1700 for a head.
    Yeah....I still kick myself. :(

I'm touched that you and your son built the amp together . A very nice job indeed , lucky son , lucky father, I certainly hope that your son got his mother's good looks.
