You could pump me full of EPO and I still couldn’t do what they can. Merckx and the other greats back in the day didn’t have drugs that actually worked, but they also performed feats of amazing strength, speed, and endurance. Today’s drugs might impart a few percent advantage, which is enough to beat the other guy, but nonetheless their overall performance is incredible.

Tomorrow is the first rendezvous, for the contenders for GC. The finish where Ocana took eight minutes out of Merckx, in '71.

Pretty awesome stage to watch. I watched the whole thing.

Too bad Perez had the accident after he nailed the King Of The Mountain jersey. They said he got hit by the team car during a descent. I'm always in awe that more riders don't get hit by any of those cars and motorcycles.

Tomorrow is gonna be pretty awesome too.

stupid cars... too many of them... shame that he had a fall after he had that puncture on the hill.. I wondered why he fell off on that points sprint to the top... i was waiting for the tussle between the two of them in front..

    I’m not a cyclist.
I try and watch here and there.
I can’t get into it like I used to.
I miss the days when Lance Armstrong was still a good guy.
I watched all seven of those years.

I don't think there ever was a day when Lance Armstrong was a good guy, just days when we we all "thought" he was a good guy ;)

I thought the mountain stages were dangerous but they were riding an a flat course and had some tremendous crashes yesterday and today! Yeah, Ewan's victory was pretty awesome to watch. I watch just about every minute of the races. Haven't done that in years. I don't want to miss anything.

Tomorrow will be "Must Watch" tv!

with the whole field together most of the time in a tight pack, it's a wonder more guys don't clip a wheel/bar more often... it's a fast pace..

hard to break up the pack on these flat stages, too... in the mountains, the field gets strung out more and breakaways get a chance...

But those high speed races down the mountains kinda give me chills. I'm on the edge of my seat quite a lot.

Pretty cool race yesterday. The Swiss kid ran a pretty good downhill race. A real daredevil! The next three mountain courses should be great to watch.
