Oh, yeah. Some young people plays 7-8 strings, but never even heard Pantera, Biohazard etc )))
Is this an extension of Einstein’s Fear of Relatives?
The only time that we’re not irrelevant is when we’re selflessly doing things that benefit or improve the lives of other living creatures.
Aside from those occasions, we’re all irrelevant, from birth to death.
Any one of us could fall off the face of the Earth, and the universe would continue on its merry way, oblivious.
Relevancy dwells in acts of altruism. That’s the only place that you can get it. It’s out of stock everyplace else.
Being relevant has been declared to be well out of my pay scale.
If that were to change, I would be first in line for my certificate of relevancy.
I aint holdin my breath.
Always got time to watch some CRO-MAGS
I don’t care.
Oh, I thought you said “indifferent”.
“Relevant” is different from having “Meaning”. If Richard Boone brings you meaning, that’s all you need.
If you have any further questions, Wire “Paladin, San Francisco”
Total irrelevance as opposed to what, partial irrelevance?
If I don't hear back from him pretty soon, I'll just mosey on up to the Carlton in San Francisco!
I can relate, being semi-retired. My advice is to find hobbies: stuff you've wanted to do but couldn't while working. I'm playing the bass!
What a fine new word!
Men have died from time to time, and worms have eaten them, but not for love.
Same with arrogance ... for me, anyway ...
Are they still around? I worked a show with them at the Ritz in Manhattan around 1984. The bill was W.O.W., SOD, The Cro-Mags, and Motörhead. I’m lucky I got out with my teeth intact.
Ah, good times!
Total irrelevance is gunna be great. As I was telling a relative: Why should I be worried about death? The billions of years before I was born weren’t so bad.
Irrelevant in whose eyes?
Irrelevant as to what issues, what purposes?
Sometimes being too indispensable makes you a prisoner to a set of circumstances that DON'T MATTER in the long haul.
You can become relevant in new and very cool ways.
I have been working to grok the whole concept of "indignorance" since your post, which was the first time I'd heard of it.
Along the way another new word has occurred to me. I don't know if it's been coined previously, so forgive me if it has:
Queed: a statement of belief delivered in the form of a question.
I strive for total irrelevance. If you carefully cultivate total irrelevance:
When the phone rings, it will never be for you.
When the mail comes, there won’t be anything in there to bother you.
Your e-mail Inbox will stay clean.
If somebody pulls up to the gate, they won’t be looking for you.
You won’t get any Friend Requests on Facebook, because you don’t have a Facebook account.
You’ll never receive texts, because no one ever texts you.
You can just play your guitar, work on your projects, ride your horse or your MX bike, go fishing, or put your feet up and hang out with your fellow Telecaster fanatics at the TDPRI, and the world will have forgotten that you exist.
I tend my irrelevance like I’m growing rare, hothouse orchids. It takes awhile for the world to forget you, but once you achieve that, the only people with whom you will interact are the ones that you actually want to interact with.
It is a fine state in which to exist, and rarely achieved in modern life.
I love it.
Total Irrelevance is probably one of the best descriptors I have seen for the membership of the TDPRI. But we are all pretty happy here together in our irrelevant bubble!
