Nope. Maybe this is my problem. I tend to write tangentially on forums, and end up getting chased out or banned.

it's okay mate, why have some blog somewhere that no one ever reads, when you can take it right to 'em?

All humor and short quips aside, I've never heard anyone's TP make that sort of sound, that's not a normal sound. Her pedals might do Chaos while being played, if that's your idle state then there is something seriously wrong. If it does that with an adapter OR battery then it sounds like there is a ground missing or something similar.

I can see people not getting over the top rant-like sarcasm.
While I'm not bothered by it, it's not my type of humor. I prefer my sarcasm and wit short and sweet.

That pedal is too noisy. It might be a simple fix, like soldering an extra wire from the negative to the shield tab on the input jack, or something.
Or, if you want it done right, mail it to 11g for a nominal fee.

Didn't catch the pedal board first time around.. Neat.. I've got a Torn's Peaker & Vintage Fuzz too during the preorder sale. Picked up the Punch Hate boost during Devi's last preorder sale, it arrived a few days go.. It plays amazingly well with most of my other pedals.. If you're looking for another Devi pedal it won't disappoint.

Even better, I will get a quirky hearcut, some edgy tattoos and start making my own vlog posts on Youtube. :D

If the pedal makes a bunch of noise, could a component have come loose in transit?

Yep, that noise is the pedal in idle.

I've had the back off and all looks in place. Thankfully I have been put in touch with someone who is going to have a look at for me, his opinion is that it doesn't sound grounded properly, if at all. We shall see!

Is the pedal casing grounded? This was a "bug" in a recent EHX pedal, so it does happen!

I've heard back from my tech friend. Turns out the TP wasn't grounded at all!! Really shows Devi up in a bad light, especially when she said it sounded ok.

Not really... Devi has made and sold hundreds upon hundreds of these pedals over the years. A bad light would imply that she constantly screwed things up or pulled the wool over her customers' eyes. You are but one person in an ocean of guitar players!

Have you considered that the lack of ground could have been intentional? Some of her other pedals are also meant to sound like a crappy broken box of junk.

Exactly, the clue is in the name. Just because someone doesn't like it doesn't mean it's wrong.

Funny anologies aside, this specific pedal was not intended to sound like that. Did you listen to the clip?

My Torn's Peaker doesn't sound like that. It's noisy, but not like that.

Yes I did, and I've heard several other demos that have that exact same noise. Why is it so hard to believe that it's not meant to sound like that?

It sounds like yours is defective. You should send it back to Devi for a fix.
