Guess I'm lucky, the only thing the gang I hang with disagrees about is when it's time to wrap up the gig. The older guys are an hour past their bedtime and the rest are just getting warmed up.

    That.

I've had many a heated discussion with musicians, but the inconsequential crap that fires up the trolls and idiots on forums was never the subject of any of them.

Usually about money, musicianship and women. I don't recall ever taking tonewood, relics or woo out to the car park.

The old Stradivariuses were better. Now they're just a sell-out and their QC sucks!

    .

The topics causing the most fights and banning on forums and youtube:

Relic guitars, real wear or fake wear ... And the real wear better not look fake.

Tone Wood, on electrics and acoustics both ... Save the environment dude.

Guitar Price = Quality, or not ... It's in the fingers or the fret leveling.

Replacing headstock logos and the general fake guitar problems.

.... Something, something, ... political opinions.

" Welcome to hell, here's your banjo."

My own banjo experience has changed over the last few years, playing now in a few casual bluegrass groups.

I play with a couple of banjo players who are really creative and bluesy too- fun to hear.
String bends and chord fills that are pretty much identical to what I may play on guitar on some bluesy tunes, just on banjo and I had no idea!

Plus they don't play at full-out volume 24/7, like some folks I have run into at jams - where you just couldn't hear...

    I gotta say,

I LOVE it here at TDPRI!

As a Forum, folks for the most part are civil, respectful, helpful, including things we may disagree on.

And we have really fun, broad, discussions on music, as well as just about everything else that is permitted.
Silly things like favorite pizza, and hot dogs, along with tube amps.

I know I spend too much time here, as I feel drawn here, because of the subject matter, and the civility/good nature of TDPRI

100% agree on auto-tune. I was looking for a stompbox that had vocal pitch correction, and I started a thread here asking about it. Instead of helpful answers, 90% of the comments were immature, judgmental, and basically ignorant. I eventually purchased the product I was looking for (TC Electronics makes it) but the members of TDPRI failed on a massive scale. It was really disappointing. Up until that point, I considered this forum to be above all the others.

Buddy Guy was playing Hendrix style before Hendrix picked up a guitar.

I had a Peavey PA/Mixer(?) that had an autotune feature. I never understood how to use it. Steve Vai, of all people, has ANTARIS Autotune built in to his stage guitar so that even if it goes out of tune it will always sound in. Generally TDPRI is miles above the normal internet-forum-retardation, but to err is human after all.

Terrible wanking? Tremulous warbling? Total wretchedness? Tangled wiring? Tammy Wynette?
