A very nice lady contacted me early in the summer, and told me she really wanted to commission her husband a guitar for their first wedding anniversary. I thought it was a cool idea, so we decided to make it happen. However, it had to be a secret. We had conversations about what she knew he liked, and his influences, etc. etc. I contacted a few of his friends, and we finally came up with the specs.

Started off with a nice lightweight piece of swamp ash I have had squirreled for a special project for a while.

Made it look like a guitar.

    Carved a neck out.

As you may have noticed from the pictures, the guitar went to Mr. Allen Shadd. His wife Lauren, had me mail the guitar to a friend of theirs, and he was generous enough to haul the guitar halfway across the country to Winfield, Kansas to the Walnut Valley guitar festival where Allen was surprised with this guitar, and placed third in the National Flatpicking Championship. Congrats Allen! He got this guitar from his wife as a anniversary present, and won a beautiful Martin guitar in the competition.

SWEET! I know Allen from the acoustic guitar forum, and I've seen him compete in Winfield. Really great guy with a stable of some fantastic guitars (that he's won). I'm sure he was pleased as punch with this one. Great job, Colt

Dang Colt, how did you get so good and so full of knowledge at your ripe young age? That's amazing, as always. Once again, highly impressed.

:eek::eek: THAT IS A BEAUTY COLT!!!!!!!!! Im sure you made that nice lady's husband as happy as you made me! I absolutely love the abalone dots and that color; I'm guessing that you are making the dots standard on all your creations which is great. God bless and I hope you get more orders in in the future.

P.S. Do you mind announcing where you sourced all the screws present on the Knight? Was it from Mr. Rutters?

I like the color. It sets it apart from the usual ones you see on every other tele.

Hey Colt, who makes your decals for you. I have been dealing with a source, high quality, but his reliability and turnaround are becoming an issue. Nice work on the guitar!
