We're barely half way done with October for chrissakes. Christmas songs in shops are almost upon us. It's around now I start to wish it all over

    Don't even get me STARTED.

I rarely go into Walmart (and places like that) as it is, but in the past few years, their habit of putting Christmas stuff out in October put me completely off shopping there.

    I wrote this song, accordingly.

    Too soon, indeed.
All this marketing of Christmas stuff months early absolutely drives the magic and the wonderfulness of Christmas right out of me.

    :(

The Christmas lights on thr pergola and on the facia past the pool stay up all year. They just don’t get plugged in until after Thanksgiving dinner. They stay lit until Three Kings Day when they are unplugged until next Thanksgiving
Everything starts going up the next day. It usually takes a couple of weeks to get it all done

Last years pix. Maybe we’ll do something a bit different this year.

When I was growing up, my mom always kicked off the decorating frenzy the day after Thanksgiving, and every year the first song played to get her really revved up was It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year by Andy Williams.

They who decorate first go to the front of the line at the Last Judgment.

My mom (b. 1927) had that same story. I guess Grandpa got the tree at a big discount Christmas Eve.

No little ones here any more, so Christmas is low-key.

It all seems so Pavlovian. They turn on the music and the lights, and suddenly I feel like I have to spend money.

All holidays should be celebrated on January 1st between the hours of 5am and 6am. After the holiday coffee people can get their ass to work or school. We'll call it Newyearestermemorialjulylaborhallowthnxgivingxmas. This will save billions of holiday pay dollars and eliminate excuses to sit around the house all day doing nothing.

I was in Lowe’s I believe it was the first week of October and they had Christmas decorations out for sale already

With the Halloween decorations that come out at the beginning of September pushed to the side and dwindling

Everything is two months ahead of time

    Makes me furious!

    Raging volcano!

It will also take away the billions that get put into the economy that pay for all of us to do our jobs ;)

Even those indirect billions trickle down

    I like the thought though

I use to say, “consumerism gone amuck”. It is way past that now.
