I was watching and couldn't help noticing the gear they had.. First thing.. Tom's 12 string.. what's he got going there. Check out the pickups.. Then you can't help but see those humongous Vox Amps back there.. lol.. Campbell is on a Tele..
    Good performance btw..

IMO, a Tom Petty concert is a way better display of cool guitars than a Bonamassa concert.

The difference is that years from now people will remember Joe as the guy with all the cool gear that could play pretty good, Tom Petty will still be remembered for his music and performances and as a legend.

Tom Petty had a huge collection of vintage guitars and amps. He also collected rare and exotic sports cars. Unfortunately some time ago his house burnt to the ground in one of those insane California wildfires. He lost everything. From what I heard he and his family where lucky to get out just minutes before the wind shifted and engulfed his home.

No, that’s the Heartbreaker’s Club House, where they kept their gear and rehearsed and recorded. Somewhere in the San Fernando Valley. Tom’s house burned down ages ago - well over a decade.

That arrangement was always spectacular. It's why live music is the best music.

I save that picture in case I ever win the Powerball. I would go to a builder & a music store and say: Make me one of these. I will pay you.

I’ve always really liked Petty and Mike Campbell. Just good Americana rock. Wonderful construction.

We saw the Black Crowes open for Tom Petty years ago and it was a great show.

The only drawback was that TP & the Heartbreakers played every hit song EXACTLY like the record.

They were like a machine, hit after hit, no deviation from the recording.

And that red tele now resides with Eddie Vedder, gifted to him by Tom before his passing. Brought out for a couple tunes in 2018 at shows I was lucky to be at. Said it would be retired from the road after that but will sing on in the studio.

I have come to the realization that I really miss Tom Petty, and I’m not ever going to get over it. The world needed him.

    Actually, it was arson.

“More shocking than the loss of their home and possessions (estimated at about $1 million) was the fact that investigators determined that the fire was not an accident. According to a report, an arsonist had drenched the house's back staircase in lighter fluid. Petty and his family were deeply disturbed by the fact that someone had wanted to kill them.”
