While I was supposed to be doing chores around the house, watched this instead. Miss ya', Tom!

So freaking cool. Mike Campbell is the man..... next to Tom. What a great band. Love those pickups.

At 62 my excuse for avoiding chores is, " I went to start doing that and forgot what I wanted to do".

Probably the best time capsule of live performances ever! I love all the OGWT stuff.

The Bill Withers one is so good. Bass player in a lawn chair. James Gadson rocking a full grill. Bill in a full turtle neck sweat.

So miss Petty. I grew up a huge fan throught my college days and was actually walking in the front door of my instructor's house when the radio announced his death. We were both shocked and cancelled the lesson. Not many celebrity deaths have had any impact on me over the years except for a few with Tom being one of that select company.

2016 was a tough year. Prince was the one that shook me hard. That was out of nowhere.

    Petty too, the following year.

That was two of my big guys, as a child of the 80s, more or less. Little 70s early on, graduated HS in 92. Petty and Prince were icons of that era.

As far as the way I sound, you can definitely hear more Petty. But there’s some Prince in there somewhere.

We are covering the same ground (graduated in '87) and actually hung out with Appollonia for a day out in San Diego later that Summer. Wasn't a huge Prince fan at the time though...that respect came along later.

They sure sound like single coils to me on some songs and hummie on others. Not P90s per say but others will chime in. Must be a rig rundown somewhere.

I was never a big Petty fan but it was sure nice to hear that great music. Thanks for sharing.

RIP Tom. Mike Campbell is a beast! Saw Tom Petty & THB’s twice. Easily in the top 5 concerts I’ve every seen.
