On a local website, for 600$, a Japanese Tokai goldtop LP copy, including case and a bareknuckle neck pickup.
A great price, but I can't really justify more guitars. I have a tele I love, plus a strat, and a humbucker Les Paul that are quite nice. Also a jazz box and some acoustics. Nothing p90 though, since I let my Casino go...

Also, it's not like I have many gigs lined up right now, so hard to justify buying more stuff...

    But what a beautiful instrument!

The Japanese models have the open book or mustache headstock. Tokai had them made in Korea and China as well with different headstocks. If it is Japanese, $600 USD is an absolute steal. May be worth 2-3X that price in the US. Way better than a Gibson. (I have three Tokai's.)

If you haven't done so already, check Reverb for the current prices. Highly collectable in the states because the clones had import restrictions.

IMG_20200325_140638.jpg I just bought a Chinese Tokai LPJ DC and it's a beauty. Way better finish than my equivalent Gibson.

I was amazed when I saw the retail prices on the Japanese ones. Even more expensive than Gibsons but I'd bet way better too.

Have you compared them to an epiphone or a Japanese made guitar? There is a big difference in price.

Unfortunately i didn't compare it to other brands but it was a nice guitar, hard to get a better axe for that price i think.

I appreciate your opinion. The mustache headstock Japanese models are highly sought after in the US because they weren't available here. I understand that things are different in Europe as I have seen them in many shops there.

Do you own one or have you played one? Delightful.

No, I also don't care much about headstocks. But that Harley Benton one is pretty gross even for my standards, which are pretty low.

MIJ models for export don't always have open book headstocks in fact they're quite rare in the UK.
I had a LS140 Tokai Gold top P90 that I deeply regret selling.
The only Les Paul I put above it was one Gibson made and gave to a mate of mine.
