I have no hate for the man. More like total indifference. But I could say the same for probably 90% of celebrities.

I don't know if I'd work with him but I'm pretty sure he'll never work with me.

It has taken me a LONG time to discover value & enjoyment in any rap music. The production sound that has come from it is the best of raps contribution. THe art? Not so much. I expect Br Dre, Snoop, Eminem are deservitavly wealthy. Kanye? I don't see him in the league of these other boys. TO me, he is like the Archies of rap. I'd say more bad about him, but it has all been said. THe sadness of fairness comes when you compare him to a serious mater talent , Performer, writer, producer. Reaslity is, Todd slays this guy as an artist. I like some rap, its just that there is so much crap and it is all dominated by BASS.

I know nothing about him except that he sings and married some reality TV star and is in the headlines a lot. Something about a baby too … right? Not relevant in my life anyway.

I use to be a major fan of Todd. I still really admire him and have a couple of his albums (CDs) but like so much "rock" music from the 70's, I hardly listen to any of it any more. "A Wizard a True Star, "Todd", "Something Anything", "Runt" and "Back to the Bars" were my favourites of his. Got to see him in the mid 70's in Toronto. I thought he produced one of the Band's albums, but I checked the ones that I have and his name isn't there, so not sure.

OK I am checking out late resignation. SO far, the only thing I like isjust the production. Bass and evrything else mixed well.I am hearing nothing that would excite me to listenng to it. Everything seems thrown together, horns sound nice, but don't jive with the overall production of thsi music. WEll engineered stuff but A good blunt woudn't help me get into this music. I hear lessor known rap artists do a much better job. That Kendrick kid anailates this as far a a message to the people. I'll keep listening.

    I'm not big on Kanye.

I only suggested those earlier albums because there are other phases of "ye" before he went full out messiah complex.

IIRC college dropout was a straight banger and considered a classic in the rap canon.

Get me a bit high and a glass of wine with a great producer and, yes, I myslef could put out a far better product. Though, much better than Kanye. I wallked into a friedn apt in 1973-4 and he had the double Todd album on. It sounded incredible. My friend says, "hey teleman, you a good guitar player, can you play any of this, I said NO and became an instant Todd fan. I was a superfan for a few years. Todd says it like it is and stands up for his causes. Todd is a critical cynical guy and I don't think Kanye would be too great at handling the truth.
