I've been thinking about starting this thread for a while. It seems like every day down here in Australia, there's something crazy reported in the media that may or may not make it to the rest of the world. So in the interests of keeping you all abreast of the general wackiness down here, I offer todays trinket.

Firefighters have rounded up two bulls that escaped a film set and were running through the inner-city Sydney suburb of Newtown.

Pictures of the animals running down one of the suburb's busiest streets, King Street, were shared on social media as they surprised motorists earlier this morning.

Later, Fire and Rescue New South Wales said a crew noticed the animals on Carillon Avenue in Newtown.

They rounded them up and are currently waiting for the animal handlers to arrive.

It is believed they escaped from a set at nearby Sydney Park.

Emus. Narley dinosaurs! I lived across the street from an Emu farm a few years back. Those things are kinda scary when they are protecting eggs.

Note that the Emus are walking past a fast food place advertising GFC, Golden Fried Chicken. If it was GFE, Golden Fried Emu, they would not be quite so nonchalant.
Last drought in several outback towns they had feral pigs invading the towns. Reports from fairly reliable witnesses say that there was a constant pig versus town dog fight going on day and night.
It's raining here as well, better get the lawn mower fuelled up and serviced, might actually need to use it this year.

My mother used to ride her horse about 12 miles from the farm into Gundagai. No Maccas in those days.

I have eaten emu meat & croc & kangaroo. All quite tasty if cooked in the right way. BTW - I sent you a private message sneakyjapan, I would gladly send you a tray of choice emu cuts if you were kind enough to check it out and reply!
    :D
