Typos I can understand, but recently there was a thread here with "capacitor's" in the title, where the word was meant to be plural. Is it that obscure that -'s is possessive and -s is plural?

Thanks for that TD. I had a person correct me on the temperature here. It was 98.6F and I , being a poor typist, typed 9.6F. Some " kind " person pointed out my error to which I responded that I was a terrible typist. I do know my Maths, I do know Electronics ( I used to lecture both at College level).
So , thank you to all those who want to point out my foibles, i hope you feel superior or whatever.

I have noticed it has only been recent on this forum. Originally we all used to be guitar geeks and part of the rules are not to deliberately anger nor put-down other members..

One, someone often corrects me on that one. I often make the same mistake but am slowly learning.:)

Good morning to you sir! It's a beautiful sun shiny day here in the B-town. We'll be heading out to play golf after a bit, supposed to be 56 degrees today, a little cool, but the sunshine makes it quite doable.

I have a prized navel lint collection! I'm a pretty serious collector, but you know, there's always someone else who's got a bigger one! Uh, what?

I'll jump in here at the risk of getting all flamed up...

I don't like seeing grammar & spelling errors...plain and simple. I believe proper spelling and grammar are the foundations of effective, clear communication. Much like when you get static on the radio trying to dial in a station, spelling and grammar errors are the equivalent for your eyes. They muddy up the conversation and make it rough for the reader/receiver to get a clear message.

IMO not caring about your spelling and grammar errors is basically saying you don't care if people get what you're trying to say. How many times have you read something you wrote, knew spelling and grammar errors existed within, and said "Ahhh, they know what I mean"?

So while it may not matter in the context of a message board such as this because it's mostly goofing around, to some, proper spelling and grammar matter because clear communication matters.

At least that's my take on it. I've given up trying to police word murderers online anymore, but I'll always cringe when I receive an email from a salesperson trying to earn business or my CEO with spelling errors in it. It's just not professional and it's a sure way to lose your audience.
