I only brought up the vagina hats because you seemed to think women were so much above men, quite frankly, everybody can be pigs, I’m not saying men are better, but women aren’t saints either

Dude - why didn’t you say you had those beliefs ?

This thread would only be half as long .

    I wouldn’t have bothered to respond .

Just so you know - there’s a whole hell of a lot of folks who think completely the opposite of you and that whole bizarre movement regarding women .

    Including MEN like me.

Men who’ve never had a problem with women .
And who’ve had a helluva lot of fun with them and not been scared or angry at them.

    Later.

My wife and I were together for 4 years before we got married, and it was good to have that much time to figure things out. I got lucky...we're pretty much polar opposites on most things, but luckily in a complimentary way. We had 8 great years together to bond before...we had kids. And that was 15 years ago. I must say, being married is relatively easy...having kids is NOT- in any way. Kids change things in ways you cannot imagine, so if your relationship is not rock-frickin'-solid before kids, your relationship is toast. I love my three boys, but man, you better be ready do give up yourself if you want to be a good dad. So, even if you get married- think before you have kids because then you're bringing others into the experiment.

Nope - I stated at least a couple of times that men and women are by and large exactly the same.

Exactly the same virtues and faults, etc, etc...

My wife’s dad took out a second mortgage on their shared home right before he left her, bought a Porsche with the money, declared bankruptcy, and left her mom with the debt. This was in the 80s. F***in drugs, man.

Anyway, there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence both ways. If the data skews towards women getting more of the earned money in divorces, it’s probably because they are typically doing more of the unpaid work during the course of the marriage.

ive read statistically most women initiate divorce, and that most divorces involve infidelity.

Well, “initiate divorce” could very plausibly be women saying “I found out you cheated and I want a divorce.”

So the man is guilty of the infidelity, but the woman initiated the divorce.

I have read none of this, but “to marry or not to marry” seems to be quite a thread

    I am married

By virtue of bringing a decision of this magnitude to a guitar forum, you may not be marriage material.

Happily . 20 years with the piece of paper, 23 years in total.

I was 34 when I got married and had dated extensively and been in 2 or 3 long term relationships before.

I did the work and having been raised with 7 sisters I didn’t start out seeing women as anything mysterious or scary.

Blessed with 4 aunts and a sister. Way more women in my immediate family then men, and the men were usually trying to find a quiet place to smoke cigarettes and not deal with us youngsters.

Keep in mind that I've seen marriages not last as long as this thread has. Just saying.

Amazed it’s been allowed to continue for anywhere near what it has.

Can’t we go back to arguing about tonewoods or something?

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Fools rush in. Don't hurry to failure. If what you have will last a lifetime then waiting should be no problem, right?
