Ding ding ding!!! I just finished my imperial clone and it sounds sooo beautiful!! Instant love. I changed the reverb to blackface type cuz I like to go full throttle with reverb and from the soundclips on YT I find the standard imperial reverb too polite.
    I did it in a 2x12 config with a G12H30 and a classic lead 80.

How did you clone? Did you get a schematic somewhere - if you dont mind my asking. I am of the opinion that this is one of best sounding amps ever - the tweed channel seems more like what you would want a tweed amp to sound like.

Mrgreene, the schematic is available or at least it was at one time. I have a hard copy. Very impressive amp, imho. The OT will be one aspect that will not be cloned, I would think; and therefor the attenuator will not be the same as a TK amp’s attenuator. There are special windings in the secondary devoted to that operation in some way. Mark Bartel is an advanced EE, no doubt.

Humm - didnt know about the secondary windings. As much as I dont need any more amps, I have always said if one showed up locally I would buy it.

There is a schematic of the mk2 online. I found a few errors on it. But it works fine after adjusting those.

Bieworm, I have never had the opportunity to compare the schematic that was drawn to an actual circuit. What errors did you find? Did you mark up the schematic???

    2 things:

    1. The bass pot is reverse wired on the schematic for sure
    2. To avoid a lot of wires crossing the triodes of V1 should be swapped. Same for V2. That's due to my layout I guess. But if people are going to clone it I don't think they will follow the layout of tone king.. I can't imagine that people will copy that system

About that bass pot.. it is so weird when a log pot is reverse wired. It's crazy how the taper deceives you. I first thought the pot was broken, until I compared imperial gut shots online with the schematic.
