Hello everyone,

I'm building my own Blackguard (http://www.tdpri.com/threads/blackguard-whiteguard-ish-telecaster-build.745816/) and I'm at the point were I need body parts.

Can someone please point me in the right direction? I've made a list below of what I found but need some advice.

I'm still new here so hope this is the right section to ask for those stuff. Thanks!

Don't you want a barrel switch tip? I though top hat switch tips came much later.

Jack plate #2 is probably period correct, but I'd suggest finding an Electrosocket (close to your #1, but different), It is far superior in my opinion, and it would not be unusual to find it installed on lots of vintage telecasters. Other, more vintage knowledgeable members may point out where I'm wrong.

Check eBay for either Madison Music or Tricked out Guitars. Tell them what you are looking for and they will set you up. All of the relic hardware I have received from them has been great and looks appropriate to the build I am doing. For example the wear is very even across the parts like in my avatar. I also like and use the electrosocket jack. They look good and work well.

The Rutters knobs are the best but they're pricey. I went with the Callaham knobs. Almost as nice. Callaham also has a vintage correct (more or less) slot head screw set with all the screws for the body in stainless (so much for vintage correct) for $13.

Yes, the barrel switch tip is the period correct one. The top-hat ones didn't come till later.

I also agree about the Electrosocket jack. Let me tell you, you'll never regret installing that from the start. It's not going to affect the vintage-ness of your guitar and it's a definite upgrade from what comes installed by Fender. You'll never have to worry about your jack socket coming loose.

If you're going to "build a Blackguard," buy, beg, steal, or borrow a copy of "The Blackguard Book" by Nacho Banos. It is loaded with painstaking detail on every aspect of real Blackguard components and specifications.

Thank you all guys!

I bought a set of Rutters "nocaster" knobs and they are excellent. (link removed)

Callaham also do a whole range of vintage spec Tele parts. http://www.callahamguitars.com/tele_hardware_kit_catalog.htm

For some reason I knew Rutters but forgot the name, definitely buy some from him!

Oh I didn't knew that this could be correct. In fact I don't have the tool to install the other one

I'm totally in love with their kit. Not as much with the price :D

Have you seen this site? http://www.guitarhq.com/fender.html#specs
The Fender "pat. pend" and "Fender" embossed bridge plates can also be found at Darren Riley. Someone else with more info may chime in.

Yep, read it about 4 or 5 times. Really a must!

In fact I found many bridge on eBay that look ok, with both 'pat.pend' or just 'Fender'. I was wondering how to stamp a serial on it. Of course I want to add mine
