Probably not. It seems they are regularly released in custom colors.

I'm pretty sure the difference is that one is gold and the other is blue-black. I could be wrong about that.

I have no personal knowledge. But i've seen this question posted a few times before and the consensus seems to be that there's no sonic differences between his different case colors.

The Timmy has been offered in multiple colors over the years, but they are all the same circuit; only the color varies.

Bob asks a totally legit question - the surf green Timmies did indeed come with a different op amp in them, so it stands to reason that other colors might have differences as well. Unfortunately, I do not know which op amp was in the surf green, or if the gold ones have any different components.

I've got my Timmy Gold from Prymaxe a while ago. It's the same pedal as original black-blue one.

And the dark greenish Starburst version says 4580, from Humbucker too. So maybe possibly. Email them and ask.

The Timmy pedal is built such that the op amp is socketed rather than soldered directly to the circuit board, so it is easy to change the op amp to whatever you want - just pull the current one out and push in the new one. And at 50 cents or so each, they're cheap to experiment with.

I believe sometime around 2013/14 Paul C. changed a few component values. Just minor tweaks to the input cap value and some noise filtering. It might have made the pedal slightly brighter but we’re talking very minor value changes going from 47uf to 39uf on the input cap so not huge.

At some point the IC was changed to a LM1458 as well. This is sometime around 2014 too and I haven’t kept up so I’m not sure what the current model has.

I built a clone a couple of years ago and tried a bunch of chips in mine. I settled on an OPA2134. Great pedal and if there’s a pedal I would buy, the Timmy would be it.
