Last week I ordered a case from them and put DO NOT CALL ME, EVER! in the notes. Sure enough, my salesguy called about an hour later, thanking me for the purchase.

I say “keep your stinking candy!” The last time I bought from them, I pulled a dental crown off eating laffy taffy. Ruined my Christmas

So case candy is actual candy? I didn't realize, I assumed it was slang for free picks, winders, stickers, etc. Mind blown.

In a perfect world when I order candy they would send me a guitar...

    They sell more than guitars.

Interesting there is such a difference in what everybody gets. I imagine a table full of empty bags and someone just pouring a mix over them.

This is what the internet was made for.

Anyway, I think it's a fun touch and they're a good company. Their price(with free shipping) beat Amazon Prime and I had my order in 2 days.

I kind of wish I had it to do over again....knowing what I know now (precisely as you say)

I would have ordered one thing of major insignificance to see how they would form a conversation to have about your usage of said item.

Like maybe a simple patch cable or something similar.

"Hey this is _______ from Sweetwater, just wanted to reach out and see how you are enjoying that 6" patch cable that cost $5... what kinda projects are you working on with it.... you don't say, man that is interesting"

"Here at Sweetwater, we have a huge assortment of patch cables,... I really like the one you purchased, do you need any more? Have you seen/heard about the new patch cables that were at the NAMM show? They are like 6.5" and come in 2 new colors... they are awsome... so good. You really need to check them out."

    "Oh, you are at work?"

It is pretty bizzare... but honestly as much as it does irritate the piss out of me, it does exactly as designed and kinda makes me feel special, and cultivates feelings of loyalty. Even though I know its merely marketing, and the guy on the line has no real interest in speaking with you for the most part, as he has a call list a mile long he has to work through on Wednesday's and Friday's...

    Lol.

What exactly does the "craft" mean in this context?

Beats me. I like Pabst Blue Ribbon, Genessee Cream Ale, and Utica Club. But I hear people talking about craft-brewed beer all the time, so I thought it must be popular. I don’t see the point in buying expensive beer when all you’re going to do is pour it into a beer bong and guzzle it down anyway.

I told my rep if he ever called me without me asking him to do so, I would stop buying from them. I have never received another unsolicited call.

I have noticed that the pricier the purchase, the more candy they send, which I guess makes sense. Should I get the same amount for a pack of picks as for a CS Fender or Gibson?

If I were irrational enough to actually shell out for a CS of any kind then I would expect to hear the sound of a chinook helicopter hovering over my backyard air dropping me a cargo container full of bit -O- Honey...

I just like poking fun at the use of the word "craft" these days... lol

The word today is haphazardly applied to items to denote sophistication, quality, luxury, and a general sense of affluence...

As if anything that's produced isn't "crafted" in one way or another.

Hipster marketing terms both amuse and irritate me.

Where I'm from we use moonshine as a tourist attraction... (wrap your head around that for a second). Bring your family on vacation, get completely trashed, drain your bank account and make memories you have no hope of actually remembering...

But hey you get some "authentic" "craft" Moonshine...

Those words here would imply that the guy cooking the stuff is probably running it off through some copper pipe ripped from an old air conditioner and then passed through an old car radiator... for added flavor and lead poisoning... mmmm authentic...lol

In reality the stuff today is mainly vodka made from old potatoes no one else could sell.

    Sorry for ranting...

Did you check under the pickguard in the routing? Bit 'O Honey is a tone candy, though. So you might want to leave it there
