    I'm jealous.

I did some inexpensive binge drinking at the beginning of the Great Plague/Depression/Whatever We're Calling This Period of History. Wasn't fun.

I bought 3 bottles of Kraken spiced rum the day before the liquor stores closed. Not sure what I was thinking. That night, I drank enough to make myself very, very sick. First time for that in many years, but it was a bad, anxious night. Even worse, the hangover made me worry that I had Coronavirus for a couple of days.

Now I have 2 unopened bottles of Kraken spiced rum, and I can't even stand the smell of it.

My pal Hannu says anxiety and depression is always at its worst in Finland in the spring - you'd think the dark winters would be the time but apparently not.

If you were from the UK I'd say, you know the booze will only make the anxiety worse, but as you're Finnish all bets are off!:lol::D

good luck! I gave up the booze 13 years ago - never looked back, and boy did i like scotch :D

It's possibly sacrilege but I'm Scottish and can't stand whisky (Scotch) but I do love whiskey (bourbon and rye) and have a fairly decent collection of both that I'm always working my way through.

My older and wiser Navy buddies taught me about drinking Scotch. First rule - it needs to be at least 12 years old. One night I tried to keep up with them; that was a big mistake. They had to carry me to the taxi...

Ever try the Bruichladdich unpeated whisky? Beautiful dram. All barley, some grown on Islay. I picked it up by mistake I guess. Was looking for a traditional peaty whisky. Saw 'Islay' on the label and was a little disappointed when i got it home and read more carefully that it was unpeated.. But then i had some.

Never tried that particular one but it's just one of those drinks that I can't stand the taste of. When that's the case they all seem pretty similar.

Okay, one bottle down. Had a nice effect, drinking 70cl of nearly 60% whisky and six-pack of beer for starters.

Had to have one sober day, so I really should get back in business. Next in line will be 450£ bottle. Today, tomorrow, who knows.

Thank you guys for your support (no, not for supporting my drinking!), I really appreciate.

The thing is, I just feel so empty. I felt more alive on the next morning when having a hangover from hell and I had hurt my back somehow, so even slightest movement still feels like someone’s jabbing my back with hot knife. And the weird part is, the terrible pain makes me feel so real and alive.

I don't like peaty whiskies, but those that do are welcome to them :)

Keep us posted, we're here for you!

I usually visit Sweden or Finland once per year, had my trip all booked for this year but all for naught as it seems.

Don’t have too much time to drink, because I left home and went to a military area. I notified my superiors and MPs that I’m bunking and drinking where it’s strictly prohibited. Now my good Lt.Col is coming to take me to a psyhiatric emergency center! Good times!

I used to collect Thomas Hardy Ale, every year I would buy a bunch of bottles and lay them away in the closet to age. A few years ago I decided to start drinking them, some were close to fifteen years old. Finished the whole collection in about one week. It was a good week. Enjoy your scotch!
