It's a mindset. it's now well in to March. This morning, when I went to do the weekly grocery shopping, I wore a new pair of denim cargos and my new sandals. The temperature was 27 degrees with a 12 mph wind for a windchill of 20°. I simply refused to acknowledge it. Got some strange looks, but I feel oddly empowered.

It's in the mid 60s here today. Every single window in my house is currently wide open and the thermostat is shut off.

That's a Scottish thing... If it stops raining we think that'll pass for Summer weather and dress accordingly... Any Scots ancestry?

I wore a raspberry beret. You know, the kind you find in a secondhand store. I also got some strange looks.

I'd like to be a winter denier, but it was cold here yesterday, so I cut another load of firewood.
Hopefully it'll see me through hurry spring:cool:

After that almost 14 day cold snap here where it didn't get above 10 degrees, when it hit 27 finally it felt down right warm!

I would have frozen solid in 13.365 seconds and snapped into a pile of frozen twigs, bits, and dust

I'll wait until Thursday when it's actually forecast to be in the mid 60s. The whole "mindset" thing is easier without the frostbite risk part. We still have snow on the ground here.

I'm outside doing some spring cleanup with a saw and a rake.

I dare the weather to disagree. 64 tomorrow, but it's an Apple app, and I believe it not.

I do look forward to the warm weather but don't mind the cold at all any more since I no longer have to work out in it. I hated the cold icy wind while up on the supersture running the ships winches, it hurt.

I'll be cutting firewood today - our pile is getting sparse and we can have snow in April here. I'm finally reaching the age where my patience for being cold has worn out. I wasn't even tempted to go out and hike around when it was snowing this winter - I used to really enjoy that.

On the other hand, places where it stays warm in the winter are getting almost intolerable in the summer. Don't know what the solution is, but I hope I figure it out soon.

Winter in my neck of the woods is that one day, every other year, where it snows heavy enough to stick, and no one leaves the house for 36 hours. Its rough.

We pay for it in June though.

It rained here, from dawn until dusk. And then it carried on raining. Shorts in March is indeed, a Scottish thing- from the people who brought you year-round bare legs. Goretex was the better part of valour today, however- and I wrapped up accordingly, on my walk.

It's above freezing and the sun is shining. That means the snow is melting. I've declared that winter is over. A couple of weeks ago we were getting -20C/-4F and colder temps.

    I hate winter!

My regular gigs ( a few different groups), are all coming back here in the NoVa/ Washington DC-area ( as of last weekend)
so as far as I'm concerned Winter is over!

( I know, living here so long, that it really isn't; crazy weather stuff can happen here)
My gigs though meager, are my livelihood, and fun- so happy to see a return...
