My avatar is my first Telecaster, a MIJ "50s reissue" which I still own, leaning against my favorite amp, a Vibroverb Reissue.

It says "Miles Davis" right on it, from the Tutu album. I often use my dog, Harley, too.

thanks! I had no real reason to think otherwise, but not having first hand knowledge, I'm reluctant to present something I don't really know. There's so many "experts" these days.

Were you aware of the book when it came out? Do think it gave the people you knew a fair representation?

Yes when the book was printed I thought that it was somewhat of a novelty at the time .
The lifestyle was real . Some had jobs and some didn't . We would work on bikes in somebody's garage in the daytime , go riding in the afternoon , hang out at bars at night , and on the weekends go on a "run" to another city or a party somewhere . It was not what we did it was who we were .

It's clip art that came with Microsoft Word in the early 90s. Either Word for DOS or Word for Windows.

Yeah, the Bowser of childhood memory had only slightly more meat on his bones than the mic stand in front of him. He was so skinny he had to stand twice just to cast a shadow. And he didn't always have the muttonchops, either...

Don't know if it's an effect of this thread, but so many have changed their avatar recently that I'm having a hard time recognising everyone

We were at the Desert Botanical Garden here in Phoenix this past Sunday. The birds are loving the Saguaro blooms!
