I guess I have landed in the appropriate forum?!:)

Hey ya'll:) I carved this yellow phase Timber Rattler out of red oak wood. Lollar Gold Foil pups, Warmoth showcase birdseye maple neck, Fender Locking Tuners. I carved it thin like a Gibson SG. It plays great and is now the most comfy guitar I own. I love the clean sound of the Lollars. They can also sound kinda' venomous;) if you want 'em to. I also own a Fender Butterscotch Elite Tele with a maple neck. That is my "gold standard" guitar that I now gauge all my custom creations to match or better in feel and playability. Inquiries on this guitar or other designs that I am creating can reach me at: tlmaier54@gmail.com front.jpg body-top2.jpg bttm2.jpg back.jpg

    Okay. I've decided.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my long life.

Jury is out on sound quality until I get a free one.

What's wrong with snakes? Fantastic creatures.

That's really nice work, and the Goldfoils look so great in there too, nice one

Nothing at all, I was just referencing Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark for an attempt at humor....

Actually, I think it sounds better than my Elite Tele in most switch positions. Those Lollar Gold Foils are the best all around single coils I have played or heard. They sound meaty but clean. I have had a few pros play it and one blues/rock man said he wanted to record with it. SO, I am still tweaking this prototype and wanting to carve the next version in ash or mahogany. Thanks for the compliment:)

Only improvement I can suggest would be to fashion a pick holder of some sort in the snake's mouth. Otherwise, it looks amazing!

Did a great job but I hate snakes. I don’t want it.

Thanks for the compliment. I really want to carve a Sidewinder on a future guitar body. At the moment I am carving rattlesnake pistol grips. Thanks again:)

I guess I should stain and paint one of these rattlers up as a Diamondback:) I have a 5 foot, freeze dried, Eastern Diamondback that my wife bought me back years ago. He used to be our dining room table centerpiece but he had to be put up on the shelf 'cause some folks seemed to lose their appetite at the table.
