I like em'
Aimee's vocals are great, this song in particular has some nice guitar playing in it.
I like that Aimee had a second act with Imago records and she did music for the movie Magnolia.
This is my favorite of their songs.
I really love ‘TIL Tuesday’s 3rd album “Everything’s Different Now”- It’s really Aimee’s first solo album, but before she dropped the band name. She’s a killer songwriters and a tidy bass player.
Their first album was great, the second not as much so, but "Coming Up Close" is a brilliant song. I really prefer those albums and the '80s band sound than most of her singer-songwriter solo material, but the first song on her debut album as a solo act was killer:
Good song, great clip! Thanks
If you like TT and Aimee, you may like Do Re Mi/Deborah Conway. Similar era, styles are a bit removed but they have something similar going on?
In Aimee's clip above, and this one , both singers burn into the screen..
they are so freaking good. and aimee mann was a total goddess.
She has so many great albums. Really a great songwriter, the way she fuses the sentiments and words.
Great band. And that particular song is my favorite.
I like her work with Ted Leo (The Both)
They played Millinium Park in Chicago a few years back - great show!
She was playing a Precision through an SVT connected to a 4x10 cab - one of the best live bass rigs I've heard.
Great song - lyrics, very atmospheric, and her singing.
I liked the Voices Carry period MTV stuff, but began finding Aimee Mann becoming pretentious and tiresome. My failure I'm sure.
More than just a backing singer... Aimee's camera work was something else!
You have to be a Rush fan to stomach music vids like this. <guilty>
