I do NOT want to see an interpretive dance of DPP.
Yeknom’s back in Osaka. Said his crate washed up on the shore last night. He’s got his MPP interpretive dance alla figured out for Jup’s demo. This is going to be swell!
My granddaughter even thinks that's funny lol.Now the grandson? Not as impressed but did smile
weather and work permitting, we need a shot of the DPP in the sunlight to get a real idea of it's glory. I'm fine waiting until the weekend.... i suppose. ;-)
Now I ask you: who else in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD has one of these?
Only one thing left to do...
I’m afraid of the thing that’s left... what is it?
What a work of art! I’m in awe...
But: does it work??!? There’s only one way to find out...
Yep, but it could take a few days; I gotta learn how to play guitar again first...

Jupiter, all goofing around aside for a sec, that guitar came out really beautiful, really excellent. Well done!! And thanks for giving us a look over your shoulder, and thanks for the laughs, too.
Okay, on the eve of the 3rd anniversary of this thread, I think we are ready to finally button it up.
This puppy is DONE. I got a bone nut to install next time I change the strings, and I could prolly fuss around a bit more with PU height, but there's nothing this guitar needs anymore, besides playing time. And a gig bag.
Here are couple short vids. One is a fly-over, and the other is a bad demo. I wouldn't have done that second one at all, but I figured there'd be a riot I if didn't make one after all this.
Besides my playing, I regret that I forgot to mention Rob (Barncaster), who hand-built the sweet pick-ups, and RogerC, who made me a custom-color Dog Tired strap. Thanks guys!
Thanks also to all the THD stalwarts who chimed in with advice, cheers, monkey pics and snide comments about how long it took to finish this. And pecker jokes (salute, Andy!). The know-how and good-will in this forum are unparalleled.
It's been a fun ride; I personally am really proud with how it turned out. It is by far the best guitar I've ever built, and now I can answer the question I asked myself when I first saw those pre-formed plates and sides on the website: How hard can it be?
FWIW, the answer is REALLY FRICKIN HARD.
“I need to finish this up before my family comes back because... they wouldn’t understand.”
But y’all do!
What a beauty !! I have been following this build since day 1 and I can say it was worth the wait. That purple flake is a real eye catcher. Have you named it yet ? i'm thinking The Empress !!!
