First off, you have to subscribe to Amazon Prime to get this game at all. I kind of hate that these sporting events are requiring you to pay for something that used to be free but that is my old man rant.
So as a Bronco fan I decided to have a little get together last night and watch the game and lots of food was made.
I made a meat tray with delish salamis, pepperonis, and other cured meats.
I made a cheese tray with cheddar, colby jack, aged Irish cheddar, Gruyere, and Gouda for those that are lactose intolerant.
I also made a 5 meat (pep, sausage, hamburger, ham, and bacon) pizza with mozzarella and some ricotta cheese to just give a little different flavor.
I made a fruit and veggie tray with grapes, strawberries, fresh cut pineapple, baby carrots, celery and a little ranch dipping sauce.
Oh and I bought some of those frozen mini tacos to heat up in the oven. Everything else I either prepared, sliced or flat out made (pizza).
I started cooking, slicing and dicing at 5PM and put the pizza in the oven at kick off. It was two hours of go go go in the kitchen to get ready.
Guests arrived and ate all the goodies as we rooted on our Broncos.
Then the game started.
Then people got sick. Not because of my food but the play on the field.
At the end of the game, I think my daughter threw up at Russ' last interception and complained of uneasiness, anxiety and double vision as she could not believe he did not see the cornerback shadowing the projected receiver when there was a wide open guy on the other side of the end zone.
One of guests fainted just as they were enjoying a sweet strawberry when Denver decided to try to go for a fourth down conversion and THREW THE BALL incomplete into the end zone. He complained of stomach cramps and felt like he needed to throw up when he came too.
I was feeling a little queasy after the game as well. My mind was foggy, my legs a little sluggish and I had a sick empty feeling in my stomach.
As I pondered these things after we cleaned up lamenting the loss, I wondered.
Maybe that gruyere cheese was bad?
