I don't recall when Fender started putting them on the neckplate. I'd guess in the last 10 years maybe?

Anyhow, I told myself they would be the first thing I took off. I lied. The pickguard plastic and sticker came off, but I've left the little black ones on the neckplate.

Somehow it's like that's last reminder I have a new guitar.

Anyone else hold out on these things? I imagine a lot don't give them any thought either way.

When they come off, I guess I have to tell the wife I need another guitar.

You mean the "CE" sticker and "Don't throw it in the recycle bin" sticker? They're still on my '15 Baja

The trash can and 'X' is another recycling symbol from the EU. It is called the WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) symbol.

Are the penalties for removing those little black stickers the same as taking mattress tags off?

    I hate those stickers.

They remind me of governments babysitting us.

I don't remove those little black enviro stickers plus I leave the pg plastic on. I do remove those mattress tags lol. I think the little do not dispose stickers are comical but I wish they'd just fall off.

What about those warning wrapped stickers/flags on extension cords, XMas lights, power tools? I used to leave them on, but now...should I be worried?? I'm not in California so I may be safe right? "Removing stickers is known to the state of California to cause.."

As soon as I'm sure as a guitar isn't getting returned within the window, they come off along with the pickguard wrap.
Any time I've sold a Fender guitar later on, nobody has missed them.

I take all stickers off everything and reattach them to the tag on my mattress so I still have a record.

The CE sticker and the garbage can with the slash sticker are still on my 13 Baja (that I bought new in 15). My 92 Strat's neck plate is clean.

Same here, I get them off of my neck plate near instantaneously. Same goes for the pickguard plastic.

I peel them off and use Fender quick clean spray to remove any residue.

I checked and I still have them, but the CE stickers are on the headstock, not the neckplate. They're Squiers though.

Still on mine. I think I need to remove them. It looks like I just went to GC and got a cheap guitar. Well, I kinda did.
