I had a nut replacement done by a guy in the San Diego area. He let me play one of his telecasters. It had a brass nut bridge and saddle. I guess that helped a lot. Even though I wanted it, I had already gotten too many "wifey passes" recently and couldn't convince her to let me get it.

I am posting it here for anyone in San Diego. You should go play it and see what you think. The D'Armond pickup is very rare (I have yet to find another one online at least anywhere). It sounds incredible.

The seller is a good guy and a garage luthier who does great work (MIRROR polished frets - can't get more polished)

Anyway, try it out. If you do, let me know if I am crazy or if this thing actually does live and breath when you strum it.

    Cheers!
