Great stuff . That band of his is phenomenal.
Who’d have thought that he’d have such an interesting solo career ?

Great album. I don't do Amazon anymore (FJB) so I pulled it up on Spotify. My favorite track from that album is this song.

While I often liked some Zep music, I was never a "fanatic". I have greatly enjoyed most of Robert's solo work. Lots of "World Music" influences, as well as what I guess is called "Americana" (?) Anyway, this stuff is WAY better than his SHRIEKING of old.

His aged voice is pretty good; his Zep voice was freaking awful. I really liked Led Zeppelin from the very first hearing of that first album, but that was despite Plant, not because of him. I'm not sure when he decided to become a musician, but I wish that had happened much, much earlier.

I just watched/listened to the clip above from Glastonbury. Brilliant! That put a big smile on my face.

I think that first album was where he sounded very powerful, and in the last album, In Through the Out Door, he was singing a completely different way and I thought that it sounded good. But all the stuff in the middle, especially Houses of the Holy.....ick.

I like Plant a whole lot better now, but things just wouldn't be right without Led Zep exactly as they were.

As for this Hollow song, it's pretty cool musically. The words, though, are very gloomy. Perhaps it conveys a sense of hope, that there will always be something better, or just plain sadness. There are plenty examples of cold-heartedness in the world, that's for sure.

Amazing vocalist. I think he got better with age and maturity. Honed his craft.

I understand the Amazon deal, I’m half way there myself, but I live in small town USA, sometimes the big A is my best choice... about this song, another like but I have to say it reminds me of the movie Deliverance! Not a bad thing.. just say’n. Have fun today may peace be your guide

    I like the stew.

    There’s a lot going on in a song like that . Ancient/modern.

    Plant has big ears.

Page was a distiller, now he’s a curator.

Plant doesn’t want to distill anything . He wants all the bits visible and recognizable.

A buddy I knew from high school came up to me at a Plant gig 4 years ago and was moaning about how the Zeppelin tunes weren’t done the way he always heard them.

I said “yeah - reinvention. The tune is still there though.”

    He just looked at me.

Indeed. I can so understand why he did not want to tour that old Zep format anymore, as historically relevant as it may have been.

Plus - what he did immediately after that Zep reunion was tour with Alison Krause .

Jay Bellerose on drums, and the two guitarists ?

T-Bone Burnett and Buddy Miller .

I’m bummed Band of Joy didnt come to my town but I’m glad I saw the AK/RP show.

I love the Alison Krauss duo record and saw their show in Paris.

Darrell Scott played with him in another incarnation of his backing band. Those are very sound band member choices.

I am tempted to start a thread about ever evolving musicians who manage to age with dignity.
