My wife and I have eaten at Trattoria Dall'Oste every time we go to Florance. It's one of my favorites and I can't wait to go back. There is no place like Italy. Best people, food and beauty on earth. I want to live there a few months out of the year when I retire if I can swing it. Man now I want a steak and some wine!

Excellent stuff. Traditionally they use a local breed of tall white cows and its served blue. One place I've been refused any doneness requests.:D

We were station in southern Italy back in 1965 near San Vito and my dad was adamant that the first thing we were going to do was go to an Italian restaurant. They had no room on base for us so they put us up in an apartment in Brindisi that was used for the Americans they had no room for on base. They had what they called block captains. Civilians that kept things cool as long as you gifted them cigarettes and other things. He arranged for our family to have a spectacular meal and it had to have been 11 at night but he delivered.

Pretty neat experience for a 7 year old kid...

Fantastic! Italians really know how to use and prepare a quality product.

As good as that is, what I really want to get my hands on is some good guanciale so I can make authentic Carbonara and Amatriciana. There's really no substitute for it.

My wife and I went to Florence 6 years ago. What a place! We loved it.

I can't remember the restaurant, but we did enjoy that kind of steak one night, along with a jug of house red. Very memorable.

Nice one, yes it's a Beautiful city, not so big like Rome or difficult like Venice, you can walk around very easely and see the whole city without problem.....
