I've been playing guitar for 16 years, but for the last eight or so years I barely touched my axe, having gotten tired of the feel of my Les Paul. It just wasn't for me - too heavy, lifeless and dull. I did some research into getting a new guitar, leading me to this forum, where I concluded a 52 AVRI is right for me...

A month later, I've barely put it down, and have started two bands with some other musicians. I've got this forum to thank, so thanks a bunch!

Here she is... second photo has a filter on it, so the true colour is in the first pic.

    A funny coincidence:

I too played for 16 years before ever picking up a Tele (I was a humbucker guy until then), and the Tele has pretty much been my main axe ever since!

I've been playing guitar for 37 years now, so 21 of those years are "A.T." (After Tele).

Another funny coincidence: my Les Paul is also a Wine Red Studio... small world huh?

I love my LP for all-out rocking mayhem, but the Tele does just about everything else better.

Oh, btw, nice choice on your Tele: my #1 is a 2003 Fender AVRI '52 Telecaster:

    Congrats!

Welcome from me as well! Yes a guitar to suit can make all the difference, although its nice to try others from time to time just for the change. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Similar story here. Had a Gibson SG for years. Sounded great but never was comfortable with it. Sold it and abandoned electric guitar. Got a MIM Std Tele after a long dry spell. OMG! Like coming home. Waited far too long.

    Hi and welcome aboard !

Glad to hear that you started playing again :) telecasters do have that kind of effects, at least to me it did, i was playing sometimes before getting my first telecaster, after that ... non stop.
There was a moment where i had no telecaster in the rack.... well i felt really naked and it lasted just a week/10 days, i HAD to buy another .... never without one again !

    Have fun here

    cheerios !

And remember, Telecasters are like Lay's potato chips - you can't have just one! :D

Welcome, and also a salute for continuing in the fine tradition of including your feet in a picture.

It is considered de rigueur around here.

GREAT guitars, love mine. Although she is a little more beat up than yours. Pure Tele soul.

We have the same story. Les Pauls and Strats. Bought a tele 3 years ago and haven't put it down since.
