It was up on the wall and as I’m not quite 5 foot I always have to reach for the upper hangers. I grabbed onto the forearm rest section to pull it down and the moment I grabbed it I knew I’d stumbled into something. This thing looks blocky but it is so smooth in the contours! So ergo-dynamic as crazy as that sounds. It feels like a strat but sleeker. It’s so thin. You gotta try one of you see one in the shop. And it looks cool as hell!

Very cool...Annie (St. Vincent) is a legend/heroine in these parts (D/FW), and many of us were excited when we found out she got her own signature model guitar...

    Congrats on your new guitar!

I have to admit, I was very curious about actual crack-type.
    Nice looking guitar, enjoy!

    Very nice!

One prime example of "wonky-looking = really cool".

    I like it, a lot.

I have to admit I’ve never listened to her. I know nothing about her. I knew this was her model but it never clicked that I bought a signature guitar until I was driving home. Now that I think of it, this is the second artist model I’ve bought. I used to own a Jimmie Vaughan strat that I sold for some stupid reason. Had nothing to do with him. It was just a cool strat. I’ll never forget that soft V neck!

    Congrats.

    Man, shops are lazy.

One call to Music Man, and they'd get a free, or at least cheap, replacement. But they'd rather throw away $150 than bother making a phone call.

I know! They had it marked down $100. I asked if they’d take $$50 less and here we are. I was surprised myself. Both the shop guys were sad to see it go. It’s interesting and looks dynamite amidst my pool of curvy axes.

Only Music Man guitar shape that I like.

That said, the headstock ruins it for me, aesthetically. Doesn't match at all. And the whole guitar would look better if the treble pickup had a black trim ring around it. I'd also put-on black Gibson-style knobs and a black switch tip.

My thoughts exactly... why not make a headstock to match??? Its all about symmetry.

She’s a big part of the indie-pop scene in Dallas...super-talented, smart songwriter with a quirky, attractive stage show (read that however you would like).

I’m not a rabid fan, but I admire her music and how she’s carved out a spot for herself.
