Thinking about mowing....

Pretty soon, I'm going to have me some mid morning breakfast, then I'm going to mow the lawn, just as I do every Monday. Sometimes the neighbors gardener is mowing at the same time I am. He has a great dog that travels with him, and I always stop and say hello to the dog.
had a slight rain so the grass is quite damp waiting for a sunny day to weed eat the back 40 and mow the dandylions

Right there with ya. I haven't had a single dry day without something else to attend to where I've been able to mow.. ALL FREAKIN' spring.
The weather is supposed to finally warm up and dry out a bit -- enough to actually mow that bunch of grass out there called a 'lawn'.

around here they're saying, No Mow May for the benefit of the bees .... so I'm saying Yay no mowing for me til June!

I've abandoned the mower and switched to machetes. It's difficult to keep these lawns under control, this Spring.
No mow May works if u r in the desert. I gotta mow every 10 days or it becomes unpossible.

The "soil" at my main house is all sand. I've brought in countless truckloads of topsoil and it just disappears. I mow once a year. The grass grows like crazy at my summer home.

I feel your pain OP. I knocked mine out around 1pm Saturday. Grass was pretty wet but I managed. Seems like it's been raining most days for the last 2 months in Eugene.

Got back from Out West Vacation to find the lawn in NC overrun by this one kind of wildflower I don't like (but these wood boring bumblebees love it). I cut as much of it down as possible, to put the hurt on these stupid insects. They're eating my building and it had to stop.
The birds have returned in huge numbers. They love it cut, I think.

I mow about 15 acres of land (two locations) with growth rates currently measured in feet per minute.
And our new Husqvarna zero turn mower is in the shop with a toasted voltage regulator. Hope it comes home tomorrow or I’ll have to break out the brush hog!

I use to mow uphill both ways. Or something like that.
