Hi there, i was thinking of starting a thread about building a Jagstang 2.0.

The jagstang 2.0 has a different body shape than the original Jagstang. Bought myself a fine piece of Alder to begin with.
Also bought a used Squier Affinity strat neck and some fender replacement tuners.

Are you making it a 25.5 scale or doing the traditional 24.75?

I really think this is what kurt had in mind, i was never a fan of the jagstang, i must of had at least 6 mustangs. i was a massive nirvana fan but i got older and just loved telecasters instead, i don't actually own a mustang anymore. check this one out! now i want one if these pretty badly. blue of green for yours i say! 8603494876_e8659f182a_b.jpg

Me too was a massive Nirvana fan, never owned a mustang but i used to have a jaguar but sold it because it didnt do it for me playing wise. I did not like the the jagstang shape very much, the idea was good but for me it needed some adjustments. The body template i made for my build is the shape i think Kurt had in mind. I'm going for a Fiesta red colour with turtoise pickguard.

Seeing your guitars coming along reminded me of a guitar mash up I made about 15 years ago. I thought if I ever made a guitar one day it would be like this:

The front horns and headstock from a Gibson SG, the offset waist and butt of a Jaguar, a fender style neck with dot inlays, and the pick guard stylings of a mustang. I would want a solid-tail though maybe a tune-o-matic tailpiece. I’m not 100% on the pickups, might want a humbucker in there, or some mosrite stylings as well. I made a sketch to show the mash up more clearly as well.

Wow man thats a great hybrid! Was it just an idea or did you build it? And what kind of pickups did you use?

No, it's just an idea. It's too much custom work, a proper luthier would need to make it for me. Maybe one day!
