Never liked fiesta red on a tele- maple or rosewood. Don't know why either cause I love it on a strat.

Fiesta red with a maple neck looks nice IMO, but it tends to look nicer with a dark rosewood board.
I too vote for dakota red, which is my favorite shade of Fender red I think.

Absolutely. I have a Fiesta red Tele with a maple neck, and it looks great.

I have a G&L ASAT in Fullerton Red (see pic) w/maple and it looks great (much better than pic), much better than w/rosewood, pau ferro, indian laurel in my opinion. I would use a plain white or mint pickguard, though, and not pearloid, which I think looks "cheesy".

I prefer Fiesta Red with a rosewood board. This might have something to do with seeing Gary Moore with a Strat with this combination many years ago. Always thought that guitar looked amazing.

That's very pretty. What's the neck like?

Don't take my word for it, take David's word for it: Candy Apply Red is the thing.

let me see, here. You are telling us you are a vintage accuracy nut and you are only 21 years old? :)

I got to admire the enthusiasm for it, but I also wonder how you might feel about it after you put another million miles on your tires. Just asking for a friend, and most of my friends are grumpy old men like me...

I like Fiesta Red and Dakota Red too, but I think Candy Apple Red is my favorite Fender red.

. ( ref the Paranormal Squire Cabronita)
The neck is all gloss, had some pokey fret ends, and feels maybe slightly bigger than Player Tele...but just maybe

Well mine isn't Fiesta Red, or even a Fender!

It's my first Strat clone, a Pevey Predator ( 1990) that in this pic, brought out for kicks, on a few gigs, maybe 2010?

Personally -- Red guitars are not my thing. I did briefly have
a red strat with a RW board. I wasn't such a fan of its looks,
but it sure did play nicely.

Again, just me personally -- I think I would like the cosmetics
of a red strat/tele/guitar with a darker board (RW) way more
    than a lighter one (maple).

It's going to be your guitar, so you should do whatever makes YOU
happy, regardless of what this here dummy says or anybody else on
this forum says. As I've said on the TDPRI before -- you have to chase
    your happiness.

ONE CAVEAT -- if you're married and your wife has a strong opinion,
you should probably do what she says. I have found that on the (rare)
occasion that mah wife has an opinion on guitar cosmetics, going with
her opinion creates tangible good will and useful political capital.

    Cheers.

It’s funny, I never wanted a red guitar, but when I saw the Squier Cabronita, with the pale neck and cream plastics, I just wanted it. The wife also!
